IBA Dock, Future Concept Building Ala Slawik Architekten
The building is at first glance looks like a building in general. You do not think if it is a building floating buildings that can be dismantled and transported back. The building was founded by Slawik Architekten which is one of the leading architects in Germany.
Themes raise this time building an environmentally friendly relocatable buildings that uses natural energy source instead of oil and gas. The building uses solar and surface temperature of the water and electricity supplies to meet other needs such as heating and Air Conditioner. Solar energy is captured and processed into electricity by the photovoltaic panels installed on the system building.
The building will be used as the office is floating on the River Elbe. The building is made to float on the water to prepare for rising sea levels caused by global warming. By its very nature can float on the water, no matter how much sea level rise is happening, this building will be able to fit in and does not come embedded with other buildings in the city center.
The building is considered to be very suitable as a future residential concept with a solid structure of the building but can float on water and can adapt to changes in water level occurs. The building features a sustainable strategy and more accurate than the solution in the form of excessive embankment to prevent sea water into settlements and cities. Today the building is the largest floating structure in Germany, where the structure of the building is built on top of impermeable concrete pontoon that has a length of about 43 meters and a height of about 25 meters. Watertight concrete is scientifically capable of float building despite facing a tidal wave building to a height of 3.5 meters.
The building is named IBA Dock has three levels of the building consists of three modules steel frame assemblies, each of which is a package ceilings, walls and floors. Three modular steel framed is combined or isolated using fiber cement panels. Modular steel frame can be disassembled and reassembled when moved to another place or to cross under the bridge is not too high.
Visitors can access the upper deck with pedestrian access that is connected to the mainland. The building has a wall thickness of 20 cm and can accommodate a maximum of 1600 people. The cost of building this building apparently reaches an amount not less, that spend up to € 8,000,000 or Rp 101 billion rupiah.
